Why Responding Matters!

Online platforms offer unique opportunities for evangelism, allowing people to feel safer asking questions about faith anonymously. 'Responding to Faith Questions Online' is a six-part podcast series designed to equip you with the skills to engage effectively with online explorers, providing them with thoughtful and compassionate responses that guide them towards Jesus.

Join our host, radio presenter and producer Jonathan Haller, along with expert speakers Jaimee Coetzee, Christian Vision Community Manager; Ruben Sukers, Christian Vision Community Specialist; and Kendall Byne-Ross, Lecturer at Cornerstone Institute. They will guide you through a four-step approach: Pray, Connect, Respond, and Follow Up, helping you to engage effectively with online explorers.

Four-step approach overview

Pray: Begin with prayer for God's guidance and protection, acknowledging our reliance on Him and seeking His presence in interactions with explorers.

Connect: Build trust and relationships with explorers by responding promptly and empathetically. Engage them with questions about their faith without overwhelming them with Scripture initially, gradually guiding conversations towards Jesus.

Respond: Tailor responses to the content of the explorer's message, introducing Jesus through real-life challenges they may present. Acknowledge boundaries and refer explorers to specialised assistance when necessary for issues like abuse, addiction, or mental health.

Follow-Up: Persistently follow up with explorers, even if they don't respond initially. Establish trust through ongoing communication and suggest further engagement, such as face-to-face meetings or phone calls, while creating a comfortable environment. Be patient and understanding, as some conversations may need more time.
